There are two petroleum engineering schools in Pakistan. They are NED University of Engineering & Technology and University of Karachi. The contact details are listed below.

 

NED University of Engineering & Technology

The Department of Petroleum Engineering resides in the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The undergraduate program, oriented towards the upstream side of the industry s, was launched in January 2005 and till date two batches with total of 58 students have been produced. The Program in fact owes its very existence to companies in exploration, production and distribution of Oil and Gas in Pakistan. The department maintains a very strong linkage with the industry that has very graciously extended its support. An active Model of Industry-Academia Linkage (NEDPIM) defines the technical and financial inputs of the industry for maintaining quality education. The Petroleum Advisory Board representing members from the Academia, Foreign University Faculty and Multinational Oil & Gas Companies is in place and provide guidance in strengthening of the academic program in order to meet the requirements of the growing Petroleum industry around the globe.

Adequate numbers of regular faculty and subject experts from the industry provide in-depth knowledge in core areas with emphasis on the concepts and applications. Spacious and well maintained labs equipped with state-of-the-art equipment are available for practicing and research. The department assures availability of internships to all students; trips to operational fields during the course of study and industry supervised final year projects. The students are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities both on national and international level. An Active SPE-NED Student chapter with international recognition provides an opportunity to students for personal and professional growth. Efforts are being made to start the masters’ program soon. Our Endeavors are to provide the best quality professionals.

University of Karachi

In the mid 1990’s Karachi University envisaged the need of the job oriented studies and established Petroleum Technology Department. Its syllabi were compiled by the joint efforts of the Oil& Gas industry and the academia. The vision was to bring forward a generation taught and developed by the Professors of the University and the scholars of the Petroleum Industry. These students are capable to take over needs of the industry.

Petroleum Technology program is successfully running in the Faculty of Engineering/Science along with Petroleum Industry scholars who are participating in the guidance towards the state of the art direction and teaching.

The M.Sc. program covers the subjects of Exploration, Drilling, Well Completion, Production, Reservoir, Natural Gas Engineering, Refining, Economics, Environment & Safety, Logistics and Industrial Management. The program is such designed to include all aspect of Oil& Gas Industry so that student could adjust to different aspects/places in the industry.

I want to do petroleum engineering after DAE, as i am doing job as well in oilfield sector and based in Islamabad.Please some body suggest me is there any university regarding this in Islamabad or near.Thanks
